According to Reuters, the Italian city of Venice will follow suit this spring and charge day-trippers 10 euros (approximately 1,640 yen) as an entrance fee from mid-April to the end of July next year. Travelers who booked more than three days in advance will be charged the old rate of 5 euros (approximately 820 yen).
