Japan’s “traditional sake brewing” decided to be registered as UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage; Prime Minister calls for “support that will lead to regional revitalization and overseas expansion”



On December 5, 2025 (Japan time), UNESCO decided to register Japan’s “traditional sake brewing” such as sake, shochu, and awamori as UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage. Expectations are rising for regional revitalization and overseas expansion.
