TOKYO — The approval rating for Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s cabinet slid to 46% in the latest Nikkei-TV Tokyo poll, down 5 percentage points from the previous survey conducted just after his first cabinet was formed in October.
When asked why they approve of the new cabinet, 45% of Ishiba’s supporters cited his trustworthiness, while 23% liked the central role played by the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
